All About Our Beef
Availability: Finishing cattle are identified in the spring, typically between March and May. They then begin the finishing process in our fields. This year, 2023, we will be accepting deposits from April 1st. Once this time passes, we cannot guarantee availability. Typically, we are sold out within a matter of days, but can try to locate additional cattle from neighboring farms and ranches that meet our standards.
Deposits: In order to reserve your beef portion, a $600 deposit is required. The deposit is refundable through August 1st (minus a 10% processing fee). Once August 1st passes, we begin processing beef and cannot guarantee a deposit refund. Our beef is all custom cut, we will reach out and go over our cut sheet with you to complete the order. Deposit prices are for each are shown under their respective page.
Pricing: Our pricing is per pound on hanging weight. This is to account for different choices in cut choice (specifically bone in vs boneless). A typical side of Vermont Natural Beef is around 280 lbs. and ranges from 240-350 lbs. We will do our best to meet requests for smaller or larger sides but there are many environmental factors which may to higher or lower yields.
